360 Mobile Security, Ltd. (“360 Mobile”), with headquarters in Beijing, and 15 offices worldwide, announced today that its worldwide mobile security app, 360 Security, has more than 100 million daily active users.360 Mobile was founded in 2013 and received more than $80 million of investment from Qihoo 360 and Wang Liwei, VP of Kunlun in 2015. In 2015, the company launched a new version of its 360 Security app and began its expansion into the international market, meeting big success within one year.
To adapt to users’ different habits, as well as local cultures and tech environments, 360 Security has a new UI design for its international users and offers translations into 34 different languages. The number of daily active users increased more than ten times after one year of effort.
The CEO of 360 Mobile, Wang Liwei, explains that this big success has been favored by a complete understanding of international markets and an appropriate promotion strategy. In the USA and Korea, for example, the smartphone is not only a tool for communication, but it is also used for entertainment, social interaction and online payments. 360 Security has increased phone performance for users and improved the safety of their private information. To satisfy these needs, the Korean version features an App Lock and Game Boost function; this version became very popular as soon as it was released.
In India, the first way to connect to the internet is via mobile terminal, often with less than 1 Gb of RAM. To satisfy Indian users’ needs, 360 Mobile developed a Lite version that is only 1/4 the size of similar products and improved the platform to run better alongside the top 1,000 apps. 360 Security Lite became very popular after launch and was downloaded more than 10 million times in 3 weeks.
360 Security has more than 300 million users, mainly in the USA, Europe, Japan, Korea and India, the main Android app markets. App Annie shows that 360 Security is ranked in the top 5 apps in 79 countries in Google Play, and first in tools ranking in 90 countries. 67 million users gave 360 Security a rating of 4.6/5. 360 Security faces challenges and will rise to excellence.
