Manchester, United Kingdom (May 06, 2010) – The Image Group, one of the UK’s leading large format printers and specialists in banners and exhibition stands, helped international sanitary supplier Grohe AG to create bespoke and highly effective display stands at a recent exhibit.
March 2010 saw the NEC Birmingham play host to KBB 2010, the UK’s largest exhibition of kitchen, bedroom and bathroom suppliers from across Europe. The KBB event provides visitors with the best opportunity to source the latest products from kitchen furniture and appliances through to bathroom accessories, furniture and components, heating and plumbing – all under one roof. The Image Group were approached by the leading Manchester brand agency Taylor O’Brien (TOB) to work in partnership in delivering a 20m x 13m open space stand situated in Hall 21.
Their client was Grohe AG – Europe’s largest and the world’s leading single-brand manufacturer and supplier of sanitary fittings, holding roughly eight per cent of the world market.
Working closely with an original brief supplied by GROHE UK Head of Marketing, Paul Machin-Davis, The Image Group’s specialist exhibition stands design team produced a series of three dimensional renders and floor plans for approval by the project team. This process allows the client to see alternative construction and display techniques. After lengthy consultation and amends, they were given the green light for production on a super-clean, super impressive open space exhibition stand.
Stand elements included a 66m elevated aluminium gantry with printed polyester branding at 3.5m high. Secure storage and kitchen facilities – central sinks with hot and cold running water and waste disposal. Also included were freestanding central reception units along with five huge double-sided display pods, measuring 4m x 2.5m. The pods were constructed from MDF and spray finished in white high gloss finish. Pod displays were supplemented with high gloss sub surface acrylic printed panels and low voltage lighting. Complementary seating and hospitality areas completed the stand.
Installation was completed over four days on site by a team of eight specialist fitters from within their own team. Day one – laying of a 260sq.m elevated floor with high gloss floor panels, integrated electrics, plumbing and waste. Day two – construction of all structural elements including storage and kitchen rooms along with 16 MDF pillars and elevated gantry feature. Day three – positioning of all freestanding display pod elements and lighting. Day four – installation of over 150 GROHE products including the new Nova Cosmopolitan WC flush panels and the new Rainshower collection of hand showers.
TOB’s Keith Taylor commented: “The stand at KBB 2010 was a ringing endorsement of teamwork. GROHE’s Paul Machin Davies added: “It was a tough schedule and we all worked hard to deliver. The guys from TOB and The Image Group went the extra mile time after time throughout the whole process. This meant the stand was installed within budget and one day early, leaving us time to add those all important finishing touches prior to the show opening.”
