Renaissance Reimagined: ‘Art Bengaluru 2014’ Brings to Life The Renaissance Period

The stage is set for ‘Art Bengaluru 2014 ‘, one of the most reputed National Art Festivals in India. The 5th Edition of this art soiree is all set to bring alive the Renaissance Period with the theme of European Art History. An annual proprietary event, The Collection at UB City & Sublime Galleria, Art Bengaluru, which started in 2010, brings a mélange of national and international artworks and artists under one roof. The event will be held between 21st August and30th August 2014.

           Every year, South India’s biggest art festival betters itself but this year’s edition is on a truly international scale. The event will showcase 13 top galleries including one each from New York and Vietnam. It will also feature one of China’s most popular artists, Liu Bolin and his work, for the first time in India. Known as “The Invisible Man”, Bolin will be exhibiting his legendary “Hiding in the City” series as well as unveiling a creation exclusively for Art Bengaluru.

    The festival will witness a special musical performance on the Santoor by Padma Shri Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma on Sunday, 24th August, 2014.

    Another part of the festival is Berserk, a unique children’s art conference in its second year, created by the organizers of Art Bengaluru. The grand finale of the event will play out on Wednesday, 27th August, 2014.

    Opening Night:

    ‘Art Bengaluru 2014’ will commence with a grand Opening Night featuring the works of renowned camouflage artist Liu Bolin and celebrated artist Bose Krishnamachari.

    Several reputed international and national art galleries are participating in the festival this year, including Klein Sun Gallery (New York), Vietnamese Art House (Vietnam), Nature Morte (New Delhi), Latitude 28 (New Delhi), Progressive Art Gallery (New Delhi), Gurukala Kutir (New Delhi), The Art Salon (New Delhi), Art Houz (Chennai), Christel House (Bangalore), Rangkunchala Art’s (Bangalore), Sacred Geometry India (Bangalore), iSpace Art Gallery (Bangalore), The Purple Turtles (Bangalore) and Sublime Galleria (Bangalore).
